IT consumerization refers to the use of private mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets or privately licensed apps in the corporate environment.
Bring your own device
The use of private hardware is referred to as bring your own device. The BYOD approach is problematic for several reasons. The supposed savings in device procurement are bought at the cost of high security risks.

Bring your own app
If mobile applications (apps) purchased privately and licensed for private use are also used professionally, this is known as bring your own app (BYOA). Both for copyright reasons (licensing regulations) and for data security reasons, the use of private apps on the job can be problematic.
