    Resources Overview

A mobile phone (also known as "cell phone") is a battery-powered wireless telephone that connects to the telephone network by radio and can thus be used regardless of location (mobile).

Today, a cell phone is almost exclusively understood to mean a smartphone. In 2013, for the first time, more smartphones were sold than "classic" cell phones, which are still sold under the name "feature phones".
