    IT Asset Management (ITAM)

Managing all of a company's hardware and software assets

    Resources Overview

IT Asset Management (ITAM) is the systematic management of all of a company's hardware and software assets across their entire lifecycle — from procurement through active use to retirement.

    The ITAM standard

The international standard ISO/IEC 19770-1 describes ITAM as a management system that brings people, processes, and technology together so every phase of that lifecycle is tracked and controlled.

In practice, ITAM mainly means always knowing which devices and licenses are in use, who's using them, and when they need to be replaced or renewed. That reduces the risk of over- or under-licensing, makes audits and compliance easier, and stops devices from staying in circulation, unnoticed, after employees leave the company.

ITAM in Everphone's Device as a Service

With Device as a Service, Everphone automatically covers the hardware side of ITAM: every device is tracked in the portal for its entire term, including status, user, and return date.

Returned devices are logged, wiped in line with GDPR, and refurbished instead of just disappearing — information IT teams would otherwise have to maintain themselves in a separate ITAM database.
