The easy way to integrate your devices in our service

If you are thinking about getting smartphones and tablets via “device as a service”, one of your first questions will probably be: what happens to the devices we already have?

The quick answer: we will buy these legacy devices off of your organization and rent them back to you. We call this process “buy and rent back” (BARB). While BARB may sound a bit confusing, it is actually really simple.

The BARB purchase happens “on paper” only, meaning that your current devices don’t have to be turned in or anything of that sort. Your colleagues can continue to use the devices. The only difference: the phones or tablets are now covered with the full Everphone service, including free of charge repairs.

Process

Your benefits with BARB

When switching to device as a service, you can sell us your existing devices with BARB. It’s an easy way to integrate your devices into our service—while at the same time preparing your whole fleet for a step-by-step modernization.

We will assess what and how many devices you currently have. We will then make you a purchase offer.

Assessment

The purchase offer will be based upon the residual value and number of your devices. Your legacy phones will generally be graded as “good”.

Offer

If you accept the offer, we will cash you out. From now on, Everphone is the owner of the devices, which we will rent back to you starting from the day of purchase.

Purchase

For your employees nothing changes. They stay in possession of the devices the entire time and can continue to work with them as usual.

User experience

If a BARB device breaks, we will exchange it as soon as possible, as we do with all devices covered by our service.

Service integration

After one month, your employees can start switching to the newer models using our self-service portal. No IT resources are involved from your side.

The trick here is: your “buy and rent back” devices can be upgraded to a newer model after only one month. In practice, your employees can order one of the newer phones if their legacy phone is broken or if they prefer one of the new company phones from our portfolio. That way, your entire fleet is modernizing itself in the background—with no tickets for your IT team. We handle all of it!
