Our device leases usually run for 24 or 36 months. When a lease ends, your users can upgrade to a newer device – and many are happy to do so.
But there are also many who simply want to continue using their smartphone or tablet – after all, there’s not always a real reason to order a new device if the old one is still in good working order and you’re happy with it.
Users can choose for themselves in the portal
We have now responded to the request for an prolongation of the rental period: with IT’s approval, we are activating the function in the portal that allows employees to independently extend the rental period of the devices by twelve months.
Once activated, the option appears at the same time as the usual upgrade option.
Please talk to your Everphone contact if you want to offer this to your teams and we will be happy to activate the function for you.
Users will then find the option in the portal under “Extend rental or select new device”.
Discounts for rental prolongations
Prolonging your rental period offers a triple benefit:
- We have less work to do.
- You have lower costs because we honor the extension with a discount on your rent (and on any employee contributions).
- From a sustainability perspective, the extension is also a good thing.
We plant 30 trees for each prolongation
To create an additional incentive for environmentally conscious users, we plant 30 trees for each renewal. However, we don’t do this ourselves: our partner Veritree takes care of this as part of its certified forestry projects.
The aim of these projects is to promote biodiversity, bind CO₂ and improve the living conditions of local communities through agroforestry, ocean afforestation, mangrove restoration and urban re-greening.
Important areas of operation include Haiti, Kenya, Tanzania and Canada, where trees, fruit plantations and mangrove forests are achieving ecological and economic benefits.
Everphone has already had Veritree plant over 60,000 trees in Tanzania and Kenya – the equivalent of over ten hectares of forest.
