About Goldbeck
Goldbeck develops forward-thinking real estate across Europe. The construction and service company sees buildings as products—delivering everything from a single source: from design and construction to ongoing services. Founded in 1969 and rooted in East Westphalia, the family-owned company now employs more than 12,500 people at over 100 locations across Europe.

Field of action
Resource efficiency has been part of Goldbeck’s DNA since the company was founded.
The company plans integrally and with foresight, builds with significantly less material and emissions thanks to systematized construction methods, and ensures efficient and user-friendly operation.
From the outset, Goldbeck also considers the possible dismantling and recycling potential of its products. But that’s not all: Goldbeck has set itself ambitious ESG goals at project, product and company level – including the continuous decarbonization of its own economic activities.

Objectives
A significant proportion of global resource consumption is attributable to the built world. Goldbeck’s most important sustainability levers therefore lie in the continuous optimization of its own construction methods and the development of efficient building operating concepts. The goal is to continuously reduce CO2 emissions.
In comparison, the CO2 footprint of company smart phones is small—but Goldbeck also wants to use resources responsibly beyond its own day-to-day business. This also includes giving preference to recyclable hardware solutions. For this reason, Goldbeck decided to enter into a partnership with Everphone. The aim of this collaboration was to establish international standards for smartphone and tablet use, reduce the burden on IT and at the same time implement a solution that is compatible with Goldbeck’s sustainability strategy.
Self-service for 7,000 iPhones and iPads
Goldbeck chose Everphone to implement a sustainable, scalable solution for the use of mobile devices in several European countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary).
With a high degree of automation of the staging, roll-out and delivery processes, international standards are created and the IT departments are noticeably relieved.
Around 6,000 iPhones (models: iPhone SE 2022, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16) and 1,000 iPads (iPad 11) are in operation. The iPads are equipped with robust rugged protective covers to prepare them for use in harsh conditions on construction sites. (Photo construction site)

Portal instead of IT tickets
A central service element is the Everphone portal for admins. Devices can be managed, replaced, and returned as required via this portal—self-service processes replace traditional support requests.
Seamless device availability close to users is ensured by 2–3 regional depots for the local provision of replacement devices. If an iPhone/iPad does break, it can be replaced with a depot device in minutes.
Billing is country-specific, which means that budget responsibility is organized decentrally. (Portal symbol image)

Sustainability
Everphone was also chosen because the solution is in line with Goldbeck’s sustainability goals: devices are used efficiently throughout their life cycle.
In the event of defects, the user receives a new device to minimize downtime. The defective device is refurbished, data cleansed and reused in the background by Everphone. Devices that are finally taken out of service are professionally recycled.
