Back cover of a smartphone
A back cover is the cover for the back of a smartphone’s housing.
With older models, the back cover had to be removed in order to insert or change SIM cards or memory cards. Some models also allowed the battery to be replaced. Current smartphones usually no longer have a removable back cover, but a slot (a kind of small drawer) to hold the SIM and memory cards. The battery can no longer be replaced in most devices.
