Mobile Information Management (MIM)

Provision of corporate data on mobile devices

Mobile Information Management (MIM) refers to the cloud-based provision of data on mobile devices in corporate use.In terms of content, the term overlaps with Mobile Content Management (MCM).

Fundamental to both EMM disciplines is the challenge of combining the most straightforward user experience possible on smartphones and tablets with the greatest possible degree of mobile security.

Mobile Information Management (MIM) therefore relates in particular to all aspects that have to do with data security in connection with mobile devices in the company. The aim is to enable secure access to corporate data across all devices. Encryption techniques and cloud-based storage and synchronization of media and data are used for this purpose. Mobile information management thus also addresses aspects such as the synchronization of data and files, sharing policies, and protection against data loss and cybercrime.
