Distribution of software or hardware
In software terms, rollout means the distribution of software to various clients such as mobile devices. In this sense, the term is closely related to that of deployment.
Unlike deployment, however, rollout in hardware terms means the replacement of an entire hardware generation, which is why the term hardware rollout plays a role in larger IT modernization measures in particular.
