In times of increasing environmental awareness and resource conservation, remanufactured IT devices, also known as refurbished IT, are becoming increasingly important in the business world.
A representative survey by Bitkom Research (a daughter of Germany’s digital association Bitkom) highlights exciting developments in this area.
- According to the survey, 15 percent of companies in Germany already use refurbished devices – a significant step towards greater sustainability.
- But that’s not all: another 15 percent of the companies surveyed plan to switch to refurbished IT solutions in the future. This shows how strongly the trend towards more environmentally friendly technologies is growing.
- By way of comparison, in 2022 just four percent of companies used refurbished IT, and only in isolated cases. This significant increase makes it clear that refurbished hardware is not only perceived as a cost-effective alternative, but above all as an environmentally friendly one.
Refurbished IT offers many advantages: in addition to conserving resources, companies are actively contributing to the reduction of electronic waste without having to do without high-performance devices.
At a time when sustainability is increasingly becoming a competitive factor, it is clear that forward-thinking companies can not only save costs with refurbished IT, but also improve their environmental performance.
